Miss Regatta Beauty Pageant 2008

Miss Regatta beauty pageant will this year concentrate on finding a contestant who will be its
ambassador in the fight against substance abuse. The winning contestant will be in the forefront in
anti-drugs and alcohol campaigns which the Round Table will be focusing on this year.

The pageant which is this year open to all ladies aged 17 – 35 regardless if they have a child or not
was launched last month through adverts on SBC Television. It has so far attracted an interesting
number of contestants.
The ceremony to crown the 2008 Miss Regatta is to be held at the
International Conference Centre on August 16th starting at 7.30pm.
Apart from being beautiful, intelligent, confident and outgoing, the
2008 Miss Regatta should also be a person with good communication
skills, have a good knowledge of what is going on and what is being
done where the fight against substance abuse is concerned.
Tickets for the event have been on sale since mid July at R125 each but
as of August 02nd onwards will cost R150.
The reigning Miss Regatta is Stephanie Duval who claimed the title last
year when she was an 18-year-old student from the Seychelles Institute
of Technology (SIT) will also be present that evening.
